Important Changes for Ordering Videos and DVDs
|
|
Beginning Winter Semester 2008, Halle Library is implementing a new way to order Videos/DVDs to be shown in your classes. This change does not impact A-V equipment. Equipment will still be ordered from the Halle Library Home Page with the A-V Equipment Request Form you have been using and delivered to your classroom as before. http://www.brand.emich.edu/avservices/avform.php In January 2008, what will change is how to order Videos/DVDs. This will be done directly from the A-V Equipment Request Form. You may either put Videos/DVDs on course reserve or you may request them for immediate use. Using either option, Videos and DVDs will need to be picked up at the Halle Library Circulation desk. If you cannot pick them up yourself, you may designate a student assistant or departmental administrative assistant to pick them up for you by filling out the Proxy Patron Authorization Form available online at: http://www.emich.edu/halle/services_faculty.html#proxy and sending or taking it to the Halle Library Circulation Desk. Another source for locating videos for your classes is the new database Discovery Education Streaming Videos. This is a digital video-based learning resource. You gain on-demand access to 50,000 content-specific segments from 5,000 full-length educational videos from Discovery School and other award- winning producers. Most appropriate for 100-200 level classes. http://brand.emich.edu/indexdesubject.php?#dbd If you have any questions about this new Video/DVD course reserve process, please contact Toni Deas at the Circulation department at 487-0020, x2143. |
