How are we doing? We want to hear from YOU!
The Bruce T. Halle Library is conducting research using the LibQUAL Survey to assess library service quality and identify best practices. Your responses will help us better understand your information needs and help us establish priorities for improvement.
LibQUAL Survey was developed by Texas A&M and is sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). This assessment tool has been used by over 500 libraries throughout the world.
Informed Consent Agreement
Procedure: This 33 question online survey will take about 12 minutes to complete.
Risks: The potential risks of participating in this study are minimal. However, some individuals may feel uncomfortable sharing their feelings about library service. If you become uncomfortable, you may discontinue your participation at any time by exiting the survey.
Compensation and Benefits: There is no direct individual compensation or benefits to participation in the survey. However, your participation will benefit research about library service by increasing our knowledge about your information needs.
Confidentiality: Your responses will be both anonymous and confidential. Your student number will not be collected Questionaires will be completed on a secured website. Responses will be stored, analyzed and reported in aggregate.
Withdrawal without penalty: Participation in the LibQUAL survey is completely voluntary and you may discontinue your participation at any time by exiting the survey. Refusal to participate or discontinuing participation will involve no penalty or loss of benefits.
Public use of data: Information from the survey may be presented in oral or poster presentations at conferences or submitted for publication in academic journals, and will be posted on the EMU Library Home Page. Responses will compared against EMU 2003 survey results and will also be aggregated with other LibQUAL+® participants allowing the EMU Library to compare its performance with that of peer institutions, and examine the practices of libraries evaluated highly by their users. Your indentity and individual responses will not be disclosed at any time.
Incentives: Participation in survey incentives in completely voluntary. Your contact information will only be collected if you are interested in being entered in the drawing for survey prizes.
Survey prizes: 2 $500 scholarships, 12 $100 gift cards, 12 $25 gift cards and 40 1gig flash drives.
Eligibility: Participation in this survey is limited to EMU students, faculty and staff over the age of 18.
